We install driven piles, bored piles, continuous flight auger piles, secant and contiguous pile walls and rock bolts. Deep foundations transfer building loads past weak or compressible soils to firmer strata, and they are often the only practical solution on soft coastal sites, on river floodplains and in areas where shallow rock is uneven. Choosing the correct pile type and installing it accurately has a direct effect on the safety, cost and life of the structure it supports. Our service includes pile caps and ground beams where required, so the foundation is complete and ready for the superstructure.

We work from the geotechnical investigation and the structural design, and we select the pile type, length and installation method to suit them. Piles are set out from survey control, installed within tolerance and tested to confirm capacity, using static or dynamic load tests and integrity testing where specified. Records of each pile, including depth, concrete volumes and any variations, are kept and issued to the engineer. Where piles form part of a retaining wall or basement, we coordinate excavation and propping so the wall performs as the design intends. Rock bolts and anchors are installed and tested to the design capacity.
